Your credit card payment arrived one day late in September after six years of paying on time. You were charged a £12 late fee, and the 0% rate on your £2,400 balance ended.

Good to know
- Several fees from one short balance can be asked for as one event.
- A late card payment can end a 0% rate. It asks for that back too, not just the fee.
- In the UK, the ombudsman usually wants the bank to have had 8 weeks first.
- If the fee was fair, it tells you so and helps you make one polite ask.
