Get Your Deposit Back cover

Problem Pack for home and renting

Get Your Deposit Back

Get back the deposit your landlord kept. It checks each deduction, says which are fair and writes every message, up to the scheme or small claims.

Works for: UK, US, France, Germany, Ireland, Canada and Australia

See it in action

An example. The situation is made up to show how the pack works.

The situation

You moved out of an apartment in San Diego after three years. The landlord kept $1,250 of your $2,000 deposit: $850 to repaint, $300 for cleaning and a $100 move-out fee.

It asks you, for example

  1. Where the rental was, including state
  2. The deposit, and how much they kept
  3. When the tenancy ended and keys went back
  4. The list of deductions, if you have it
The line-by-line reply it writes

Subject: Re: Deposit for [YOUR FORMER ADDRESS]: response to deductions

Hello,

Thank you for the itemized statement of September 15. My response to each line:

1. Repainting, $850 charged: reject. The walls were painted when I moved in three years ago and show only normal use. Repainting after normal use is wear and tear.
2. Cleaning, $300 charged: propose $75. I accept the oven needed cleaning. My move-out photos of August 31 show every other room clean.
3. Move-out fee, $100 charged: reject. My lease does not include this fee.

That makes $75 in total. Please return the further $1,175 by November 13, 2026.

Kind regards,
[YOUR NAME]

If they hold firm, it writes the formal demand with a 14-day deadline and prepares the small claims timeline.

A skill for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or Copilot, or a text file for any AI chat, that turns your AI into a helper for getting your rental deposit back, one deduction at a time.

It asks where you rented and what they kept, rates every deduction as fair, part fair or not fair, then writes calm messages and dispute statements with your evidence and a clear date.

What you are buying

It is

  • A list of every deposit law in every place
  • An app, a login or a subscription. You pay once.

The message most people send, and the one this pack writes

The usual first message

Subject: My deposit Hi, I moved out last month and I still have not got my deposit back. I left the place clean and I do not think the deductions are fair. Please can you return my money as soon as possible? Thanks

No amounts, no dates, no reply to each charge and no deadline, so it is easy to brush off.

With this Problem Pack

Subject: Re: Deposit for Flat 2, 14 Elm Road, tenancy ended 30 June: response to deductions Dear Mr Patel, Thank you for the deductions of 8 July. My response: 1. Carpet replacement, £600: propose £60. The check-in inventory says "good, light wear" four years ago. I accept the small stain; a cleaner quoted £60 to remove it. 2. Professional clean, £150: reject. My video of 30 June shows the flat at the check-in standard. 3. Lounge touch-up, £30: accept. That makes £90 in total from my £1,200 deposit. Please release the remaining £1,110 through the DPS by 22 July. Kind regards, Amira Hassan

It answers each charge with a reason and proof, accepts what is fair, and sets a date. An invented example from the pack.

What it does

Words you can type at any time. You do not need them to start.

Start it Asks five short questions: where you rented, the deposit, the end date, the deductions and your photos
line check Rates one deduction as fair, part fair or not fair, with the sum for an old item
next message Writes the next message to your landlord or agent with an amount and a date
they replied: <paste> Explains what their answer means and writes your reply
dispute statement Writes your statement for a deposit scheme, bond authority or small claims court
case file Shows the deposit, deadlines, each deduction and what you sent, on one screen

How you use it

  1. Open a new chat in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok or Copilot. Free plans work.
  2. Attach the text file to a new chat in any AI and type "Follow this file". Or upload it once as a skill to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or Copilot.
  3. Answer its questions in your own words. It works through the problem with you from there.

See the set-up steps for each AI before you buy.

What arrives

A zip file, straight after you pay. Inside: the pack as a ready-to-upload skill with its SKILL.md, the same pack as one text file for any AI, and a start-here PDF with both set-ups.

Good to know

  • Deadlines for returning deposits differ a lot between countries and US states. The pack tells you to check the official site.
  • Normal wear and tear, like faded paint or worn carpet, is usually not yours to pay for.
  • Where your deposit is held in a scheme, there is often a free way to settle a dispute.
  • It will tell you when a charge looks fair, so you do not waste time fighting it.
  • It writes, you send. Nothing goes out for you.
  • Part of the Renter's Kit: 3 packs for $29.
  • Or get Every Problem Pack: all of them for $99.
  • 14 days to get your money back if it does not do what this page says.

Questions

Which AI does it work with?

Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok and Microsoft 365 Copilot take it as a skill: upload it once and it switches on by itself. On any AI and any plan, attach the text file to a new chat and type "Follow this file", or add it to a project.

How do I get it?

Pay once by card. The download button appears straight after payment and your receipt comes by email. No account, no subscription.

Can I keep it ready for next time?

Yes. Upload the skill once to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or Microsoft 365 Copilot, or add the text file to a ChatGPT Project or custom GPT, a Claude Project, a Grok project or a Copilot agent. The start-here guide shows each.

Does it send anything for me?

No. It writes each message and you read it and send it yourself.

Is this legal advice?

No. It helps you put your case clearly and keep it moving. For large sums, a court date or anything you are unsure about, speak to a lawyer or a free advice service where you live.

What if it does not work for me?

You have 14 days to get your money back if it does not do what this page says. Tell us what you asked it and what it returned.
