Strike Stopped You Getting to Work cover

Problem Pack for work and pay

Strike Stopped You Getting to Work

A strike kept you off work and your employer docked a full day or marked you absent. It gets the deduction down to the hours you really missed, with the proof and the rule for your country.

Works for: France, Belgium, UK, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Poland

See it in action

An example. The situation is made up to show how the pack works.

The situation

You work 7 hours a day in an office in Reading and commute by train from Newbury. A rail strike on Thursday 5 November cancels every train. You text your manager at 07:15, get a lift at 10:30 and work from 11:30 to 18:00, missing 3 hours. Your November payslip deducts a full day, and HR has marked it as unauthorised absence.

It asks you, for example

  1. Where you work, and whether you were absent all day or late (how many hours)
  2. Which strike, and when and how you told your employer
  3. What the employer has done: pay docked, marked absent, leave taken, a warning
  4. What you tried instead, and what proof you have
The first message it writes

Subject: Strike day 5 November 2026: deduction of 7 hours, request to correct to 3

Dear [manager's name],

On Thursday 5 November 2026 every train from Newbury was cancelled by the rail strike. I texted you at 07:15, found a lift and worked from 11:30 to 18:00, so I missed 3 hours of my 7-hour day. The operator's cancellation notice and a screenshot taken that morning are attached.

My November payslip deducts a full day, 7 hours, and records the day as unauthorised absence. Acas guidance on disruption getting to work asks both sides to be flexible, and I was ready and willing to work.

Please correct the deduction to the 3 hours I missed on the December payslip and record the absence as authorised. I am happy to make up the 3 hours this month, and to work from home on future announced strike days.

Please confirm by Friday 11 December 2026.

[Your name]

If they say "no work, no pay", it accepts the 3 hours and holds the line on the other 4, works out the exact amount from your pay, and writes the request to HR for review.

A skill for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or Copilot, or a text file for any AI chat, that turns your AI into a helper for the day a strike stopped you getting to work.

It works out which fight you have (a deduction bigger than the hours you missed, leave taken without asking, an "unjustified absence" on your record, a warning), writes the message to your manager or HR with the proof and the rule for your country, works out the deduction that matches the hours you really missed, and answers when they say "no work, no pay".

What you are buying

It is
  • The strike-day notice to send before or on the day, proposing home working or making up the hours
  • The request to correct a deduction, the record or a leave day, with the proof and the rule stated once
  • Answers to the usual replies: no work no pay, whole day deducted, taken from your holiday, you should have found another way in, written warning, silence
  • Works in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok or Copilot
It is not
  • Legal advice. For a dismissal, discrimination or a large sum, talk to a union, Acas, the Arbeiterkammer or a lawyer.
  • A promise of pay. In most countries the hours you did not work are unpaid, and that is lawful. The pack fights the rest.
  • A refund claim against the train company or airline. That is a different pack.
  • An app, a login or a subscription. You pay once.

The message most people send, and the one this pack writes

The usual first message

Subject: Strike Hi, I couldn't get in on Thursday because of the train strike and now my whole day has been taken off my pay. That's not my fault. Can you sort it out please? Thanks

No hours, no proof, no rule and no date, so it gets "the policy is no work, no pay".

With this Problem Pack

Subject: Strike day 5 November 2026: deduction of 7 hours, request to correct to 3 Dear Ms Lefort, On Thursday 5 November 2026 every TER from Vienne was cancelled by the strike. I had written to you on 3 November proposing to work from home that day, and I texted you at 07:10. I found a lift and worked from 11:30 to 18:00, so I missed 3 hours of my 7-hour day. The SNCF certificate and a screenshot of the cancellations are attached. My November payslip deducts a full day, 7 hours (€126), and records the day as an unjustified absence. service-public.fr states that an employee who warns the employer and can justify the impossibility of getting to work cannot be sanctioned, and that any deduction must be strictly proportional to the time missed. Please correct the deduction to 3 hours (€54) on the December payslip and record the absence as justified. For future announced strike days I would be glad to work from home. Please confirm by Friday 11 December 2026. Camille Renard

The hours, the notice given, the proof, the rule once and a real date. An invented example from the pack.

What it does

Words you can type at any time. You do not need them to start.

Start it Asks five short questions: your country, the strike and the hours you missed, when you told your employer, what they did, and what proof you have
Answer the questions Tells you which fight you have, how strong it is and the deadline that applies
next message Writes the request to correct the deduction, the record or the leave day, then the chase
they replied: <paste> Explains what their answer means and writes your reply
proportion Works out the deduction that matches the hours you really missed, from your pay and your working day
plan Writes the strike-day arrangement to agree with your employer for next time

How you use it

  1. Open a new chat in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok or Copilot. Free plans work.
  2. Attach the text file to a new chat in any AI and type "Follow this file". On a paid Claude plan, you can install it once as a skill instead.
  3. Answer its questions in your own words. It works through the problem with you from there.

See the set-up steps for each AI before you buy.

What arrives

A zip file, straight after you pay. Inside: the pack as a ready-to-upload skill with its SKILL.md, the same pack as one text file for any AI, and a start-here PDF with both set-ups.

Good to know

  • Tell your employer as early as you can, in writing, and save the transport operator's certificate or a screenshot the same day. Everything else rests on those two things.
  • In France the deduction must be strictly proportional to the time you missed, and an employee who warned the employer and can prove the impossibility cannot be sanctioned. In the UK, with nothing in the contract, the employer does not have to pay for the time, but Acas expects flexibility: home working, making up the hours, holiday or unpaid leave.
  • Austria is the exception: an employee who looked for alternatives and told the employer normally keeps the pay. Belgium pays a strike that broke out suddenly, not one that was announced.
  • A warning or dismissal starts a short time limit: 20 working days in Spain, 60 days in Italy and Portugal, three weeks in Germany, two weeks in Austria, 21 days in Poland. The pack gives it as a real date.
  • Want a refund or compensation from the railway? Train Delay Compensation is built for that.
  • It writes, you send. Nothing goes out for you.
  • Or get Every Problem Pack: all of them for $99.
  • 14 days to get your money back if it does not do what this page says.

Questions

Which AI does it work with?

Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok and Microsoft 365 Copilot take it as a skill: upload it once and it switches on by itself. On any AI and any plan, attach the text file to a new chat and type "Follow this file", or add it to a project.

How do I get it?

Pay once by card. The download button appears straight after payment and your receipt comes by email. No account, no subscription.

Can I keep it ready for next time?

Yes. Upload the skill once to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or Microsoft 365 Copilot, or add the text file to a ChatGPT Project or custom GPT, a Claude Project, a Grok project or a Copilot agent. The start-here guide shows each.

Does it send anything for me?

No. It writes each message and you read it and send it yourself.

Is this legal advice?

No. It helps you put your case clearly and keep it moving. For large sums, a court date or anything you are unsure about, speak to a lawyer or a free advice service where you live.

What if it does not work for me?

You have 14 days to get your money back if it does not do what this page says. Tell us what you asked it and what it returned.
