Problem Pack for home and renting

Cancel a Doorstep or Phone Sale

Signed up at your door or on the phone and want out? Find your last day to cancel, send a notice that proves itself, end the finance and get your deposit back.

Works for: EU, UK, US, Japan and Brazil

See it in action

An example. The situation is made up to show how the pack works.

The situation

A salesperson knocks on your door on Saturday 7 November and stays for two hours. You sign a contract for a heat pump, £7,400, and pay a £300 deposit by card. He sets up finance for the rest. Installation is booked for 30 November. By Tuesday you know you do not want it.

It asks you, for example

  1. Where you live, and how it was sold
  2. What you agreed to buy, from whom, and for how much
  3. The date you signed, and whether you got a cancellation form
  4. What you have paid, and any finance you signed
The first message it writes

Subject: Cancellation of contract [contract number] dated 7 November 2026

I am cancelling my contract [contract number] for a heat pump, which I signed at my home on 7 November 2026. I am doing so within the cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Please refund my £300 deposit to the card I paid with, within 14 days of this notice, by 24 November 2026. The finance agreement arranged with this sale ends with it. Please confirm that you have told the finance company.

Please do not carry out the installation booked for 30 November, and confirm this cancellation by email.

[Your name]

It tells you your last day to cancel is 21 November, writes the short notice to the finance company, and tells you what to say if the salesperson rings to talk you out of it.

A skill for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or Copilot, or a text file for any AI chat, that turns your AI into a helper for cancelling something you agreed to buy at your door, away from a shop or on the phone.

It works out your last day to cancel as a real date, writes a cancellation notice that needs no reason and proves itself, ends any finance the salesperson set up with the sale, and answers when the seller says "there is a cancellation fee" or "work has already started".

What you are buying

It is
  • A cancellation notice with your last day to cancel worked out from your dates and country
  • The notice to the finance company, and the refund chase with its due date
  • Answers to the usual replies: cancellation fee, too late, made to measure, work started, silence
  • Works in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok or Copilot
It is not
  • Legal advice. For a large system already installed or a court claim, talk to an advice service.
  • A way out of every contract. Outside the cooling-off period it depends on the paperwork you were given.
  • A service that cancels for you. You send the notice yourself.
  • An app, a login or a subscription. You pay once.

The message most people send, and the one this pack writes

The usual first message

Subject: Solar panels Hi, Your salesman came round on Saturday and I signed up for the solar panels, but I've been thinking about it and I'm not sure it's right for us. Is it possible to cancel? Please let me know what I need to do. Thanks

A question, not a notice, with no contract number, no law and no date, so it gets a call back from the salesperson and a "cancellation fee".

With this Problem Pack

Subject: Cancellation of contract BRE-20417 dated 31 October 2026 Dear BrightRoof Energy, I am cancelling my contract BRE-20417 for solar panels and a home battery, which I signed at my home on 31 October 2026. I am doing so within the cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Please refund my £500 deposit to the debit card I paid with, within 14 days of this notice, by 18 November 2026. The finance agreement with Northgate Finance was arranged with this sale and ends with it. Please confirm that you have told Northgate Finance. Please do not carry out the installation booked for 23 November, and confirm this cancellation by email. Priya Shah

A notice, not a request: the contract, the law, the refund date and the finance. An invented example from the pack.

What it does

Words you can type at any time. You do not need them to start.

Start it Asks five short questions: where you live, how it was sold, what you agreed to, the dates and what you have paid
Answer the questions Tells you how strong your position is and your last day to cancel
next message Writes the cancellation notice, then the chase and the refund reminder
they replied: <paste> Explains what their answer means and writes your reply
finance Writes the notice to the finance or credit company set up with the sale
doorstep Tells you what to say if the salesperson calls or comes back

How you use it

  1. Open a new chat in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok or Copilot. Free plans work.
  2. Attach the text file to a new chat in any AI and type "Follow this file". On a paid Claude plan, you can install it once as a skill instead.
  3. Answer its questions in your own words. It works through the problem with you from there.

See the set-up steps for each AI before you buy.

What arrives

A zip file, straight after you pay. Inside: the pack as a ready-to-upload skill with its SKILL.md, the same pack as one text file for any AI, and a start-here PDF with both set-ups.

Good to know

  • In the EU and the UK you can cancel a contract signed at home, at work, in the street or by phone within 14 days, without a reason. For a service the days run from the day you signed.
  • If the seller never gave you the cancellation information, the EU and UK period is extended by up to 12 months.
  • Cancelling also ends finance the seller arranged with the sale, at no cost to you.
  • US: 3 business days for doorstep sales of $25 or more. Japan: 8 days from receiving the contract document. Brazil: 7 days, including phone sales.
  • A subscription or membership you signed up to online? Cancel Anything is built for that.
  • It writes, you send. Nothing goes out for you.
  • Or get Every Problem Pack: all of them for $99.
  • 14 days to get your money back if it does not do what this page says.

Questions

Which AI does it work with?

Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok and Microsoft 365 Copilot take it as a skill: upload it once and it switches on by itself. On any AI and any plan, attach the text file to a new chat and type "Follow this file", or add it to a project.

How do I get it?

Pay once by card. The download button appears straight after payment and your receipt comes by email. No account, no subscription.

Can I keep it ready for next time?

Yes. Upload the skill once to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or Microsoft 365 Copilot, or add the text file to a ChatGPT Project or custom GPT, a Claude Project, a Grok project or a Copilot agent. The start-here guide shows each.

Does it send anything for me?

No. It writes each message and you read it and send it yourself.

Is this legal advice?

No. It helps you put your case clearly and keep it moving. For large sums, a court date or anything you are unsure about, speak to a lawyer or a free advice service where you live.

What if it does not work for me?

You have 14 days to get your money back if it does not do what this page says. Tell us what you asked it and what it returned.
